About Byzantine Museum of Ioannina

The Byzantine Museum of Ioannina is housed in one of the homes of fortress Its Kale of Ioannina, the capital of the Epirus vicinity in northwestern Greece. The critical phase become built inside the 1960s and originally functioned as a Royal Pavilion. The museum become opened to the general public in 1995. The series of the silver objects is housed in a separate nineteenth-century building at the fortress, and plans are ongoing to unfold the exhibition among several other homes within the citadel.

The museum consists of collections of Early Christian and Byzantine sculptures, excavation unearths from Arta, pottery, manuscripts and early editions of revealed books, publish-Byzantine icons and silver items.
