About Archaeological Museum of Chania

The Archeological Museum of Chania is an exhibition hall situated in the previous Venetian Monastery of Saint Francis at 28 Chalidon Street, Chania, Crete, Greece. It was set up in 1962. The historical center contains a significant gathering of Minoan and Roman antiquities exhumed from around the city of Chania and the encompassing local unit, including pieces from the antiquated urban areas of Kydonia, Idramia, Aptera, Polyrinia, Kissamos, Elyros, Irtakina, Syia and Lissos, and furthermore from Axos and Lappa in Rethymno local unit.
