Aigio is a city and a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 nearby government reform, it's far part of the municipality Aigialeia, of which it's far the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 151.101 km². Aigio is a port town on the Gulf of Corinth, and takes its call from the historical metropolis of Aegium. Before the founding of the metropolis, the region had a Neolithic settlement.
