About Volta
Volta Region is one of Ghana's 16 administrative areas, with Ho unique as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the vicinity is multi-ethnic and multilingual, which include agencies together with the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan peoples.
The Guan peoples consist of the Lolobi, Likpe, Akpafu, Buem, and Nkonya humans, et al. The Togoland Congress became a political celebration formed in 1951 to campaign for the unification of the Ewe people in British Togoland and French Togoland as a separate Ewe country. The celebration changed into defeated in the May 1956 UN plebiscite in British Togoland, which resulted within the unification of British Trans-Volta Togoland with Gold Coast, which later have become impartial as Ghana. On nine May 1956, a vote was performed to determine the destiny disposition of British Trans-Volta Togoland and French Togoland. The native and dominant ethnic institution, the Ewe people, had been divided between the 2 Togos. 58% of British Trans-Volta Togoland inhabitants voted in prefer of kingdom union with the Gold Coast, and the Togo Ewe kingdom was integrated with Gold Coast.
