About Aburi Botanical Gardens
Aburi Botanical Gardens is a botanical garden in Aburi in Eastern vicinity of South Ghana. The garden occupies a place of 64.8 hectares. It changed into opened in March, 1890 and was founded by using Governor William Brandford-Griffith and Dr John Farrell Easmon, a Sierra Leonean scientific doctor.
Before the garden was installed, it became the web page of a medical institution built in 1875 for Gold Coast government officers. In 1890 William Crowther, a student from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, become appointed the garden's first curator. After Hevea brasiliensis changed into sent to Aburi from Kew in 1893, the gardens also advocated rubber production in Ghana.
