About Wildsee
The Wildsee is a small lake within a place of bog among Bad Wildbad and Gernsbach, excessive in the Northern Black Forest mountain range in southwestern Germany. The lake is fed by using rain water. It is a part of the Kaltenbronn Nature Reserve. The region has a geological base of sandstone. The sandstone advanced a rich brown soil, which at the start allowed the European Beech to grow. In the later improvement of forestry, the Norway Spruce and European Pine had been brought. These three tree species can be found within the place of the lake. The Wildsee is positioned at a top of 909 m above sea level on a plateau among Bad Wildbad, Gernsbach and Forbach.
The surface region of the lake has been estimated as 2.3 hectares due to the fact that paintings within the early 20th century by way of Karl Muller. More recent facts from the Baden-Wurttemberg State Office for the Environment, Survey and Conservation estimates its region as 1.15 hectares. Immediately adjacent is the smaller Hornsee. The nearest settlement with road links is Kaltenbronn, approximately 2 kilometres to the southwest. The boundary among the municipalities of Gernsbach and Bad Wildbad runs via the Wildsee and its associated nature reserve. The Hornsee belongs to Gernsbach.
