Twist

Twist is a region in the Emsland area, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is arranged straightforwardly on the Dutch outskirt. The settlement in the region of the present region Twist started very late around the year 1784. The sovereign minister of Münster Max Franz fulfilled the desires of some "Heuerleute", a sort of rancher, from the close-by town of Hesepe to settle down in the marsh "Curve".

This was the beginning stage of the settlement in Twist; to be more exact it begins at the road of houses which is these days called "Alt-Hesepertwist". The ground was around then very barren due to the its sythesis and did simply permit a small job thus the general population did not live in any solace. The development of the canal "Nord-Süd-Kanal" around 100 years after the fact got critical upgrades the personal satisfaction of the general population, in light of the fact that the trench permitted a deliberate waste and expulsion of the peat.
