About Tonsberg
The Tönsberg is a prevalent slope edge in the Teutoburg Forest and lies in the area of Lippe close Oerlinghausen. Toward the east of the long edge of the Tönsberg are the remnants of a pre-memorable hillfort Sachsenlager and a house of prayer known as the Hünenkapelle.
On the Tönsberg is the destruction of an old windmill dating to 1753. The round and hollow base of the windmill is known as the Kumsttonne "Sauerkraut barrel" and is a seal of the town of Oerlinghausen on the north inclines of the Tönsberg.
One of the famous authors of its time the Hermann Löns strolled over Tönsberg; his impressions are recorded in his story, Frau Einsamkeit "Lady Loneliness" In 1898, which showed up in 1911 in the volume Da drauben for dem Tore.
