About Tettnang
Tettnang is a city inside the Bodensee district in southern Baden-Wurttemberg in a region of Germany referred to as Swabia. It lies 7 kilometres from Lake Constance. The area produces large quantities of Tettnang hop, a component of beer, and ships them to breweries all through the world. Tettinang or Tettinac become first noted in 882 in a file of the Abbey of St. Gall. In the beginning of the 10th century the castle of the Counts of Montfort changed into built near the town.
The metropolis privileges had been granted in 1294 by means of King Adolf of Nassau. The reign of the Counts of Montfort ended 1780 when they offered the county to Austria, at the side of Tettnang Castle to pay money owed. The county have become part of Further Austria under the house of Habsburg. In the Peace of Pressburg of 1805 it became Bavarian property which gave it to Wurttemberg 5 years later. With the merge of Baden, Hohenzollern and Wurttemberg in 1952 it have become part of the brand new formed nation Baden-Wurttemberg. Until 1973 it turned into capital of the district Tettnang which was merged with components of district of Uberlingen to form the Bodenseekreis.
