Templin

Templin is a small city in the Uckermark district of Brandenburg, Germany. Though it has a population of only 17,127 it's miles with 377.01 km² the second one largest metropolis in Brandenburg after Wittstock and the 7th largest metropolis in Germany with the aid of place. The metropolis is placed in the south of the agricultural Uckermark location and its capital Prenzlau, north of the Schorfheide Chorin Biosphere Reserve. The town became first mentioned in a 1270 deed issued by using Henry of Ostheeren, Bishop of Brandenburg.

Then, an ownership of the Ascanian margraves of Brandenburg, it seemed as a city in 1314 underneath Margrave Waldemar, who in 1317 concluded the Treaty of Templin right here, finishing the war against Denmark, Mecklenburg and the Duchy of Pomerania. Heavily devastated by means of Danish troops within the 30 Years' War, Templin from 1816 on belonged to the Prussian province of Brandenburg close to the border with Mecklenburg-Strelitz. From 1912 on, Templin changed into the seat of the Electoral Brandenburgian boarding faculty established in 1601 via Elector Joachim III Frederick of Hohenzollern at nearby Joachimsthal.
