About Steinwache
For a preview of reflection, the Steinwache is a past police base camp reverse the Hauptbahnhof.
In 1933 the Gestapo accepted control over the premises and from that time on the station earned the sobriquet "Pass on Hölle von Westdeutschland", the "Hellfire of West Germany". At first communists and social democrats were kept, trailed by an enormous number of compelled laborers from Eastern Europe caught for minor or made-up offenses.
The Steinwache was undamaged by the war and until the point that the 1970s continued being used as a police central station.
The building was undermined with demolition until 1987 when the city records were moved to the prison and an enduring introduction "Security and Persecution in Dortmund, 1933-45" was presented in the station.
An enormous number of people kept at the Steinwache are out and out recalled, and in the cellar, there are intense shows about National Socialist abuse and a phone with shower painting from the period.
