About St. Lorenz, Nuremberg
St. Lorenz Church is situated in the St. Lorenz region of Nuremberg's Old Town on the southern side of the Pegnitz River.
Remain before the momentous western façade of St. Lorenz Church Sankt Lorenz Kirche and you'll be flabbergasted by its complex brickwork and transcending double towers.
The congregation's epic towers and nave reflect its St. Sebald partner on the opposite side of the Pegnitz River. Appreciate the congregation's resplendent plans from its patio at Lorenzer Platz and stroll inside to see its curiously brilliant Lutheran inside.
Enter the congregation and investigate its huge nave. The amazing choir is planned in the German late Gothic style and contains a cutting of the Angels' Greeting by Veit Stoß and a tremendous sanctuary.
See the congregation's three-section organ, which goes back to 1862. The congregation's primary organ was introduced in the 1930s and is one of the world's biggest organs.
Look at its 12,000 channels spread crosswise over 165 registers. The congregation's turret contains 16 chimes, the most seasoned of which is from the fourteenth century.
