About Schloss Weimar
Schloss Weimar is a Schloss royal residence in Weimar, Thuringia, Germany. It is presently called Stadtschloss to recognize it from different royal residences in and around Weimar. It was the habitation of the dukes of Saxe-Weimar and Eisenach, and has additionally been called Residenzschloss. Names in English incorporate Palace at Weimar, Grand Ducal Palace, City Palace and City Castle. The structure is situated at the north end of the town's park along the Ilm stream, Park a der Ilm. It shapes some portion of the World Heritage Site "Established Weimar".
Ever, it was regularly decimated by flame. The Baroque royal residence from the 17th century, with the congregation Schlosskirche where various works by Johann Sebastian Bach were debuted, was supplanted by a Neoclassical structure after a fire in 1774. Four rooms were committed to the memory of writers who worked in Weimar, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Johann Gottfried Herder, Friedrich Schiller and Christoph Martin Wieland. From 1923, the structure has housed the Schlossmuseum, an exhibition hall with an attention on sketches of the 15th and 16th century and centerpieces identified with Weimar, a cultural centre.
