About Runkel Castle
Runkel Castle, a destroyed slope palace from the High Middle Ages, is situated in the city of Runkel in the Landkreis District of Limburg-Weilburg in the territory of Hesse, Germany. Settled in the valley of the Lahn River, the town and palace are, in a straight line, 6.04 km east of Limburg a der Lahn, 29.9 km southwest of Wetzlar and 60 km northwest of Frankfurt am Main.
As the slope had just pulled in the consideration of the Celts, it is likely they gave it its name: "Run – kall", the Celtic word for "shake mountain". In 1159, a Sigfridus de Runkel was referenced in the reports yet the palace was assembled somewhat before by a man with a similar name, presumably on the requests of the Holy Roman Emperor, maybe Frederick Barbarossa, to secure the key go among Weilburg and the southern side of the locale.
At the season of the château was worked, there was only a ship. The scaffold was not worked until the Late Middle Ages. Today, the manor is possessed by Maximillian, Prince of Wied who lives anyway at Neuwied Castle. Runkel mansion houses a historical center, a church, a chronicle and the private wing of the proprietor's distant uncle Metfried, Prince of Wied. The Upper Castle is still in remnants and difficult to reach to guests however it is as yet conceivable to enter the principle keep.
