Rendsburg is a town on the River Eider and the Kiel Canal in the focal piece of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is the capital of the Kreis district of Rendsburg-Eckernforde. Starting at 2006, it had a population of 28,476. Rendsburg's establishment date is obscure. Rendsburg was first referenced in 1199. An old type of its name in Danish was Reynoldsburgh. It transformed into a piece of Holstein in the 13th century, however was moved to Schleswig in 1460. Ordinarily the town go from Danish to German control and the other way around.
