Nordertor
About Nordertor
The Nordertor is an old town door in Flensburg, Germany, which was worked around 1595. Today the milestone is utilized as an image for Flensburg. The town mass of Flensburg was fabricated well ordered from 1345 onwards. A town entryway, named Norder Porte, was worked in the northern segment of the divider. Toward the finish of the 16th century it was supplanted by the Nordertor, a structure with ventured peaks and entrance.
As of now the Nordertor denoted the northern limit of the town. It was a checkpoint that was shut around evening time. On the north substance of the entryway are two plaques. The left one bears the imperial ensign of King Christian IV, 1577-1648 and the Latin words: Regna Firmat Pietas. The correct one bears the crest of Flensburg with the German words: Friede ernahrt, Unfrieden verzehrt Peace sustains, hardship eats up. The left plaque is no doubt the more seasoned of the 2, perhaps from when the Nordertor was manufactured.
