About Museum of the Palatinate

The Historical Museum of the Palatinate is an exhibition hall in the city of Speyer in the Palatinate district of the German province of Rhineland-Palatinate.

It is arranged over the square from the Speyer Cathedral.

The historical center's attention is on the History of the Palatinate, it has a gathering of around 1 million ancient rarities, the most established being a roughly 190,000-year-old hand hatchet.

The historical center is among the most vital in Germany and is known for its uncommon presentations.

With more than 200,000 guests for every year, it is one of the real attractions of Speyer.

The exhibition hall was built up in 1869 and the accumulations of the Historical Society of the Palatinate, the previous Rhine District, and the City of Speyer were consolidated.

The working at the present site was worked in 1910 by draftsman Gabriel von Seidl; a cutting-edge add was included 1990.

The exhibition hall is a trust borne by the City of Speyer, the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Speyer, the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, the Historical Society of the Palatinate, and the Bezirksverband Palz.
