About Monument to the Battle of the Nations

The Monument to the Battle of the Nations is notable for its authentic fight, it is a landmark in Leipzig, Germany, to the 1813 Battle of Leipzig, otherwise called the Battle of the Nations. Paid for generally by gifts and the city of Leipzig, it was finished in 1913 for the 100th commemoration of the fight at a cost of six million gold imprints.

Leipzig was the site of the Battle of the Nations. The bound together military of Russia, Prussia, Austria, and Sweden won in a conclusive triumph over Napoleon and his partners on German soil.

At last, 600,000 warriors from more than twenty nations participated in the fight, 100,000 were murdered or injured, and a typhus pestilence softened out up Leipzig, slaughtering 10% of the populace.

One year after the staggering fight, the artist Ernst Moritz Arndt had to make a dedication to respect the fallen.

In 1894, Leipzig engineer Clemens Thieme established the German Patriot's Association, with the objective of gathering gifts for the dedication.
