About Lorsch
Lorsch is a town in the Bergstrabe area in Hessen, Germany, 60 km south of Frankfurt. Lorsch is outstanding for the Lorsch Abbey, which has been named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Lorsch lies around 5 km west of the Bergstrabe in the Rhine crack only west of the Odenwald between Darmstadt toward the north and Mannheim toward the south. The town lies not a long way from the Weschnitz's lower comes to. To the town's southeast the Weschnitzinsel protection region is found.
Lorsch outskirts in the north on the network of Einhausen and the town of Bensheim, in the east on the town of Heppenheim, in the southeast on the network of Laudenbach and the town of Hemsbach, in the south on the town of Lampertheim and in the west on the town of Burstadt. Lorsch Abbey was established in 764 by the Frankish Count Cancor and his mom Williswinda. The convent was one of the best focuses of Carolingian workmanship. In 1991, the town facilitated the 31st Hessentag state celebration.
