About Limburgerhof
Limburgerhof is a non-association municipality in the Rhein Pfalz Kreis within the Rhine Neckar metropolitan region and is known national by the BASF Agricultural Center Limburgerhof. The first lines of human presence within the region of the existing community are stone tools of the Middle Stone Age, which have been observed within the winery Gansberg. Already inside the Bronze Age humans settled in the place of the modern day Limburgerhof.
In October 1958, a Urn grave of the Bronze Age become determined at the ditch on the federal dual carriageway nine on the grounds of the Agricultural Research Station of BASF and inside the sand pit Gewann Gansberg already in 1955 a stool of the early Bronze Age was determined. From the following thousand years, archaeological finds are missing. In Roman times a dual carriageway led from Strasbourg to Mainz throughout the prevailing district. Several milestones are acknowledged from this street, however they had been constructed into the rules of the overdue Roman fort Altrip. After the distance information on these milestones, which are based totally on Speyer, it can be calculated that as a minimum 2 of those milestones must have stood on the present district Limburgerhof.
