About Kloster Frauenberg
Kloster Frauenberg is a monastery of the Franciscans on the equal mountain in Fulda. In the monastery was the provincial council of the Thuringia Franciscan Province, which was united in 2010 with the four other provinces of the German Franciscan Province. The monastery also has a overdue Baroque monastery church. In the yr 744 Stormiest came to Fulda to build on behalf of his grasp Boniface the monastery Fulda. This observed him a touch later, to look at the development of the construction enterprise itself.
As the clergymen of that point pronounced, Boniface had retreated to a mountain north of the site to discover peace and quiet before the construction noise and to pray there and look at the Scriptures. He also every now and then celebrated masses at the mountain, for which he consecrated an altar in the formerly erected timber church. After Boniface's dying in Friesland 754 the mountain should undergo his memory. That's why he was referred to as Bischofsberg. Abbot Ratgar 802-817 had the church rebuilt at the Bischofsberg, because the wooden church threatened to decay.
