Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge
About Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge
The Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge is a swing span in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, and the town's milestone. The Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge associates the shoreline with the South Quarter. Development started in 1905, and at its finishing in 1907 it was Europe's longest swing scaffold. The structure plot was made by Ernst Troschel, development was executed by MAN Nuremberg. In 1998 the turning mechanics of the southern piece of the scaffold were harmed when a towing boat slammed into a frigate and must be mostly fixed.
In 2003, a load dispatch smashed and somewhat harmed the scaffold. From September 2010 to September 2013, the extension was shut to general society for fixes. The extension has a length of 159 meters and a width of 8 m. The two columns are 20.4 m tall. On the extension the street traffic can just drive one path in the meantime. It is constrained by traffic lights. Before it tilts out the scaffold is obstructed for the entire traffic by light flag and pikes.
