About Hardenstein Castle
Hardenstein Castl is a ruined citadel in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The stays lie east of Herbede at the Ruhr River, surrounded via mountains, and are not effortlessly available. Nearby ruins show that the fort was once a part of an important mining centre, likely dating to the Middle Ages; the earliest statistics, from the sixteenth century, support this. The citadel features inside the legend of the Nibelungs. The fortress's association with mining caused a legend that King Goldemar, a dwarf or kobold, dwelled there.
One version of the story, recorded via Thomas Keightley in 1850, says that King Goldemar lived with Neveling von Hardenberg on the fort. For three years, he delivered the population exact success until a curious man tried to look his footprints by means of casting tares and ashes approximately. Goldemar cut the person up, roasted his frame, boiled his head and legs, and ate him. He changed into long gone tomorrow, vowing via a observe that the house might be as unfortunate because it were lucky whilst he lived there.
