About Goethe Schiller Monument
The first Goethe– Schiller Monument is in Weimar, Germany. It consolidates Ernst Rietschel's 1857 bronze twofold statue of Johann Wolfgang Goethe 1749– 1832 and Friedrich Schiller 1759– 1805, who are likely the two most worshipped figures in German literature. The landmark has been portrayed "as a standout amongst the most celebrated and most adored landmarks in all of Germany" and as the start of a "religion of the landmark". Many landmarks to Goethe and to Schiller were constructed consequently in Europe and the United States.
Goethe and Schiller had a wonderful companionship and coordinated effort that was "like no other known to writing or craftsmanship". Both men had lived in Weimar, and were the original figures of an artistic development known as Weimar Classicism. The bronze figures of the Goethe– Schiller statue are significantly overwhelming size; eminently, both are given a similar stature, despite the fact that Goethe was about 20 cm shorter than Schiller. The figures were mounted on a huge stone platform before the Court Theater that Goethe had coordinated, and that had seen debuts and incalculable exhibitions of Schiller's plays.
