About Furstenzug
Expansive painting of a mounted parade of the sovereigns of Saxony, made out of 25,000 Meißner porcelain tiles. 102 meters in length and 9.5 meters high 957 m2, it is one of the biggest porcelain fine arts on the planet. It demonstrates the thousand year history of the Princely place of Wettin.
By 1589, the divider where the photo stands was at that point enlivened with a chalk picture. For the 800th commemoration of the place of Wettin another stucco form was charged and executed by Wilhelm Walther, yet it weakened quickly.
From 1904 to 1907 the present picture was developed with Meissen porcelain tiles, coordinated by Walther himself. The wall painting portrays 35 Saxon rulers, from Conrad, Margrave of Meissen to George of Saxony, and 58 different people.
