About Erfurt Cathedral
Erfurt Cathedral also called St Mary's Cathedral is the most important and oldest church building inside the Thuringia city of Erfurt, central Germany. It is the Episcopal seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erfurt. The cathedral become specially built within the International Gothic style and is located on a hillside overlooking the primary metropolis rectangular. Former German names include Marienkirche and Propsteikirche Beatle Mariae Virgins. Saint Boniface erected a church on the mound wherein Erfurt Cathedral is now sited. In the mid-12th century, the principles of the authentic church have been used for a Romanesque basilica. In the early 14th century, the mound was enlarged to make room for St Mary's Cathedral. The structure of Erfurt Cathedral is in particular Gothic and originates from the 14th and fifteenth centuries. The building has many amazing architectural functions, along with the stained glass windows and the indoors furniture.
