About Burgdorf
Burgdorf is a town within the Hanover Region, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 22 km northeast of Hanover. Until 1974, Burgdorf become the capital of the Burgdorf district. The town and its surrounding regions are regarded for the tradition of growing white Asparagus and for breeding Hanoverian horses. Burgdorf hosts a monthly horse market from April to September each year. Burgdorf become first noted in 1279. It became a part of the Diocese of Hildesheim. The city turned into surrounded by means of some of settlements that had been misplaced at some stage in the middle a long time.
After the Lesser Hildesheim Diocesan Feud 1420 to 1422, the place changed into given to the Dukes of Celle. Their territories later have become part of the Duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg after which the administrative area of Luneburg. In 1433, the mansion of Burgdorf become rebuilt and fortified with a wall, three gates and moats. Burgdorf become simply a village again then. From the 16th Century on, Burgdorf held the town seal and coat of hands with a lion resting among two o.k. Trees. The colorings and flag of the metropolis, green and yellow, are derived from this coat of fingers.
