Brillenhohle
About Brillenhohle
The Brillenhohle is a cave smash, positioned 16 km west of Ulm on the Swabian Alb in south-western Germany, in which archaeological excavations have documented human habitation when you consider that as early as 30,000 years in the past. Excavated by means of Gustav Riek from 1955 to 1963, the cave's Upper Paleolithic layers comprise a series of Aurignacian, Gravettian and Magdalenian artifacts. In 1956 the primary human fossils have been found inside a fireplace in the center of the cave, a discovery which made vital contributions to the foundational know-how of the Magdalenian culture of central Europe.
Brillenhohle is positioned inside the Ach Valley, lying approximately 80 m above the Ach River beneath. The site derives its call from the 2 holes inside the cave's ceiling, which together resemble a couple of spectacles. The cave is largely a room with a diameter of 17 m, a median top of 4.50 m and a duration of 23 m. A small aspect cave of 2.50 m width and 6 m top, known as Vespershohle runs from the doorway around 5 m in the direction of the east. As the site is in a complicated nation of decay, it's been certain a cave wreck.
