About Bendorf
Bendorf is a town in the district of Mayen-Koblenz, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, on the correct bank of the Rhine, approx. 7 kilometers north of Koblenz. The town comprises of the four districts: Bendorf, Sayn, Mulhofen, Stromberg. From the 18th century, Bendorf was ruled by mining and the metallurgical business. The most forcing relic of this period is the Sayner Hutte Sayn mine works. The minerals of the Bendorfer mine works originated from the Trierischer Loh iron-metal mine. The Rhine port of Bendorf dates from 1900.
Notwithstanding dealing with mud and basalt it has the biggest oil-storerooms among Mainz and Cologne. Today the previous modern city is home to many retail locations. Bendorf Focus is a relationship of brokers, the point of which is to improve the neighborhood economy. The Bendorf Vierwindenhohe FM radio transmitter is arranged on the slope known as Vierwindenhohe. Heinrich Boll's short story Wanderer is set in Bendorf.
