Beckum

Beckum is a metropolis inside the northern part of North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. It is set 20 km north east of Hamm and 35 km south east of Munster. It gives its name to the nearby Beckum Hills. Several Neolithic stone cists are the earliest lines of humans inside the place around the three brooks, Kollenbach, Lippbach and Siechenbach. Because of these three brooks, the city changed into eventually named Bekehem or later Beckum, that means home upon the brooks.

In 1224, Beckum became granted its town charter, and it quickly grew in wealth as traders and craftsmen set up businesses inside the town. The metropolis quickly extended to a place of over 22 km2. However wars, riots and the Black Death inside the following centuries left their mark on the town. After the Thirty Years' War, rules eliminated several rights from cities and cities, and as a end result many towns and cities in Munster land have become closely economically and religiously established upon the Bishop of Munster.
