Bad Oeynhausen is a city in the district of Minden Lubbecke within the northeast of North Rhine Westphalia. The town became based within the 19th century as a spa after a warm spring were drilled on its territory. In the subsequent years, it developed into a health hotel of supraregional significance with a lawn park in the beginning designed by Peter Joseph Lenne for garden structure. Today it's far the vicinity of numerous professional clinics, especially the Heart and Diabetes Center of North Rhine-Westphalia.
From the pastime of the spread in East Westphalia Protestant revival motion was the diaconal organization Wittekindshof inside the district Volmerdingsen out. After the Second World War, the town become briefly the seat of the British military authorities, before transferring to Berlin after the Potsdam Conference. The headquarters of the British Army of the Rhine remained till 1954 in Bad Oeynhausen. A megalithic stone chamber grave in Werste is the oldest evidence of human settlement in present day city location.
