About Bad Langensalza
Bad Langensalza is a town of 17,500 inhabitants in the district of Unstrut-Hainich, Thuringia, Germany. The previous district Klettstedt was converged into Artern in January 2019. It was first referenced in chronicled records ca. 932, as a town named "Salzaha". The town's name was changed to Langensalza ca. 1578, and "Bad" or "Shower" was added to the name in 1956. In 1075, Langensalza was the site of a fight, wherein Emperor Henry IV prevailed upon the revolting Saxons and Thuringians.
The town was ravaged and harmed by flames amid the Thirty Years' War c. 1632. Flames again annihilated enormous pieces of the town in 1711, including total pulverization of the town corridor, which was revamped between 1742-1752. In 1815 Langensalza turned out to be a piece of the Prussian Province of Saxony. In 1866 it was again the site of a fight among Prussia and Hanover amid the Austro-Prussian War. American troops involved the town in 1945.
