About Backnang
Backnang is a town in Germany within the Bundesland of Baden-Wurttemberg, roughly 30 km northeast of Stuttgart. Its population has extended significantly over the last century, from 7,650 in 1900 to 35,761 in 2005. Backnang turned into ceded to Wurttemberg by way of the Baden in 1325. Backnang has been called Gerberstadt because of several tanneries and leather factories, and wool and cloth generators that dominated Backnang's industries. Today, all of those have vanished, and as a substitute, telecommunication organizations which include Ericsson and Tesat-Spacecom dominate the city's industries. The Stiftskirche, previously the church of Backnang Abbey, dates returned to the 12th century.
Backnang hosts the annual Strassenfest over the last weekend in June. It has been based as a avenue competition where nearby sports activities and cultural clubs provided drinks and ingredients. The conventional opening of the Strassenfest is marked with cannon pictures from the town tower at 6 pm on Friday and ends with the Zapfenstreich on the subsequent Monday at 11 pm. The Strassenfest generally draws more than 100,000 spectators. Another cultural occasion in Backnang is the once a year Murr-Regatta prepared by using the Jugendzentrum. It is normally held weeks after the road pageant.
