About Altena Castle
Altena Castle is a Medieval hill manor in the town of Altena in North Rhine-Westphalia. Based on a goad of Klusenberg slope, the manor lies close to the Lenne in the Markischer Kreis. The stronghold was raised by the early Counts of Berg in the mid 12th century. In the end, the House of Berg relinquished Altena and moved their living arrangement to Hamm.
The manor was worked by the siblings Adolf and Everhard von Berg around the year 1108 after Henry V conceded them land in Sauerland for their devoted administrations. On Wulfseck Mountain they assembled their stronghold, which they named Wulfeshagen, later Altena. This is one of the few legends of the foundation of the region of Altena and the structure of the stronghold. Today the mansion is image of the town of Altena and a vacation destination. The section ticket is additionally substantial for the close-by Deutsche Drahtmuseum German Wire Museum. Amid the primary few days of August a yearly Medieval Festival happens in the manor and town. Some portion of the manor is utilized as an eatery.
