Aichtal

Aichtal is a city inside the district of Esslingen in Baden Wurttemberg in southern Germany. It is located 18 km south of Stuttgart. On January 1, 1975 on the administrative reform the town Grotzingen and the unbiased municipalities Aich and Neuenhaus fashioned the brand new metropolis Grotzingen with administrative headquarter in Aich district. After protests from Aich and Neuenhaus, wherein parts of the population felt downgraded by way of this name, the town was renamed on August 1, 1978 in Aichtal.
