About Kashveti Church
Kashveti Church the primary church on this site should have been worked in the sixth century by Davit Gareja, one of the austere 'Syrian fathers' who come back from the Middle East to spread Christianity in Georgia.
As indicated by legend, a religious recluse blamed him for making her pregnant.
He answered that if that were valid, she'd bring forth a child, and if not, to a stone, which properly happened. Kashveti signifies 'Stone Birth'.
The current 1910 building, composed by Leopold Bielfeld, is a duplicate of the eleventh century Samtavisi Church, 60km northwest of Tbilisi.
David forecasted his refusal would be demonstrated when she brought forth a stone.
She did, and the place got the name of "kashveti.
