About Yerres
Yerres is a commune in the southeastern rural areas of Paris, France. In 1860 the dad of Gustave Caillebotte purchased a bequest on the banks of the stream Yerres and the popular impressionist painted around 80 canvases there, until the closeout of the domain in 1879. The most acclaimed canvases the craftsman made in Yerres are Portraits a la campagne, Baigneurs, Bords de l'Yerres, Canotiers ramant sur l'Yerres. The home and its wonderful patio nursery are currently possessed by the town and open to guests.
The first parish of Yerres could well go back to the 12th century. Around then a wooden church remained on the spot where the present church building stands. During the time the congregation had distinctive supporter holy people: Saint Lupus, Saint Vincent, Saint Fiacre and now Saint Honestus. The congregation that can be found in the town focus was presumably worked in the 13th century yet later changed.
