Villa Cypris
About Villa Cypris
Villa Cypris is an ocean side manor in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin on the French Riviera. The estate was assembled c. 1904 in Neo-Byzantine style by modeler Edouard Arnaud for Cyprienne Dubernet, the widow of Grands Magasins du Louver's owner Olympe Heriot. It is adjoining Villa Cyrnos. The greenery enclosures, spread out in 1909, slant steeply down to the ocean. Structures for the greenhouses, just as the estate insides, were given by Italian painter Raffaele Mainella, who did in like manner for Villa Torre Clementina, additionally in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. He assembled a house exhibition ignoring the ocean, connected to the estate by a scaffold and a long trip of turfed steps fixed with sections.
This focal stairway is flanked by two increasingly, parallel stairways. Other patio nursery highlights incorporate a Venetian-style loggia, a pergola with sections and curves styled after the Mosque– Cathedral of Cordoba, and a depressed Dutch greenhouse containing a long canal. The display and different highlights gave perspectives to Dubernet to watch her little girl Virginie Heriot, a focused mariner, yachting in the cove below. The estate, together with its greenhouses, was enlisted as a landmark historique in 1990. It isn't available to people in general.
