About Seine-Maritime
Seine-Maritime is a branch of France in the Normandy area of northern France. It is arranged on the northern bank of France, at the mouth of the Seine, and incorporates the urban communities of Rouen and Le Havre. Until 1955 it was named Seine-Inferieure. The division was made from part of the old region of Normandy amid the French unrest, on 4 March 1790, through the utilization of a law of 22 December 1789. The department was made in 1790 as Seine-Inferieure, one of five departments that supplanted the previous area of Normandy.
In 1800 five arrondissements were made inside the department, to be specific Rouen, Le Havre, Dieppe, Neufchatel and Yvetot, in spite of the fact that the last two were disbanded in 1926. The epic La place by Annie Ernaux to a great extent happens in Seine-Maritime and portrays occasions and changes that occur in connection to French society in the 20th century particularly in connection to the country populace. The primary story of the long-running arrangement Valerian and Laureline is set in Seine-Maritime, with the character Laureline beginning from the territory.
