Saint Genis Laval

Saint-Genis-Laval is a collective in the city of Lyon in the Auvergne Rhone Alpes locale of eastern France. The Lyon Observatory is situated in this collective. Saint-Genis-Laval draws its name from Saint Genis or Genest, a Roman performing artist tormented under Diocletian. Toward the start of the 13th century, to separate it of different towns of a similar name, the town added a subjective to its name.
