Saint Cloud

Saint-Cloud is a commune within the western suburbs of Paris, France. It is placed 9.6 kilometres from the centre of Paris. Like different communes of the Hauts-de-Seine together with Marnes-l. A.-Coquette, Neuilly-sur-Seine or Vaucresson, Saint-Cloud is one of the wealthiest cities in France, ranked 2nd in common family earnings among communities with 10- to 50000 tax households. The town is called after Clodoald, grandson of Clovis, who is supposed to have sought refuge in a hamlet on the Seine near Paris, then named Novigentum, like many different newly founded mercantile settlements outdoor the conventional towns.

After he was canonized, the village in which his tomb was located took the call of Sanctus Clodoaldus.
