Royal Monastery of Brou
About Royal Monastery of Brou
The Royal Monastery of Brou is a religious complex situated at Bourg-en-Bresse in the Ain departement, focal France. Made out of ascetic structures notwithstanding a congregation, they were worked toward the start of the 16th century by Margaret of Austria, little girl of the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I and Governor of the Habsburg Netherlands. The complex was structured as a dynastic entombment place in the convention of the Burgundian Champmol and Citeaux Abbey, and the French Saint-Denis. The congregation is known as the Eglise Saint-Nicolas-de-Tolentin de Brou in French.
The religious community is the property of the town of Bourg-in-Bresse, which introduced the civil craftsmanship accumulation in the structures in 1922. The historical center presents religious statues of the 13th to 17th century on the ground floor, and a gathering of compositions of the 16th to the 20th century on the upper floor. The congregation and religious community have been classed as a landmark historique since 1862. The structures are being taken care of by the French state, and are overseen by the Center des landmarks nationaux.
