Nemours
About Nemours
Nemours is a collective in the Seine-et-Marne division in the Ile-de-France district in north-focal France. Nemours should get its name from the forested areas amidst which it once in the past stood, and disclosures of Gallo-Roman remains demonstrate its initial birthplace. It was caught by the English in 1420, however determines its verifiable significance rather from the lordship to which it gave its name. In 1585 a settlement repudiating past concessions to the Protestants was finished up at Nemours between Catherine de' Medici and the Guises.
The congregation, which dates mostly from the 16th century, has an attractive wooden tower. The primitive stronghold, raised around 1120 was transformed into a historical center in the 20th century. It has a focal keep with four adjusted towers. A statue of the mathematician Bezout, a local of the town, was raised in 1885. In the region is a gathering of fine sandstone shakes, and sand is broadly quarried.
