National Gendarmerie Museum
About National Gendarmerie Museum
The National Gendarmerie Museum is an exhibition hall on the historical backdrop of France's National Gendarmerie. It is sited at 1-3 Rue Emile-Leclerc in the town of Melun. It previously opened in 1946 yet has since been over and again broadened. Because of a convention marked in 2005 between the Minister of Defense, the communaute d'agglomeration Melun Val de Seine and the town of Melun, it shut somewhere in the range of 2007 and 2015 for a total repair and redisplay in a structure close to the Gendarmerie's officer-preparing foundation.
It has more than 30,000 articles, archives and photos, including more than 1,000 photos. 2000 of these articles, archives and photos are shown more than 1200 square meters of lasting showcase space. There is additionally a 200 square meter brief shows space, a 135 square meter perusing room, a gathering room and training spaces. The Museum was made a 'Musee de France' by France's haut conseil des musees on 14 January 2011.
