Musee des Beaux Arts de Dole

The Museum of Fine Arts and Archeology was established in 1821 by the will of chose and neighborhood notables to offer back to the city its old crystal fixture of capital Comtoise. The accumulations are rich in three areas: antiquarianism, old craftsmanship and contemporary workmanship. Two rooms in the storm cellar are dedicated to the archeological disclosures of the Jura, from the Neolithic to the Merovingian period.

The accumulations of contemporary craftsmanship unite two floods of craftsmen who have worked in France since the 1960s and whose focal point of intrigue identifies with the examination of the connection amongst workmanship and society: Narrative Figuration and New Realism.
