About Musee dAngouleme

The Musee d'Angouleme, earlier the Musee des beaux-expressions d'Angouleme, is an open gallery in Angouleme, France. It is situated next to the Angouleme Cathedral in the core of the authentic focus of the city, It is named a Musee de France, and has essential archeological, ethnographic and aesthetic accumulations. It likewise has impermanent shows and meetings. The Musee d'Angouleme has its birthplace in a 1838 gift of ten works of art to the city of Angouleme by Francois Ringuet.

Beginning in 1868 the French government started to send artworks that had been displayed in the Paris Salons to Angouleme, where they were first put away in the upper room of the old city corridor. On 15 August 1869 a historical center was opened on the ground floor of the new city lobby, where it stayed until 1920. On 12 September 1920 the present exhibition hall opened in two wings of the previous home of the Bishop of Angouleme. It highlighted compositions, figure and paleohistory.

The authoritative wing kept on being utilized for different purposes. The Musee d'Angouleme has a gathering of archeological items from the Charente waterway bowl.
