Montreuil is a collective in the eastern rural areas of Paris, France. It is found 6.6 km from the focal point of Paris. It is the 4th most crowded suburb of Paris. Montreuil is situated close to the Bois de Vincennes park. The name Montreuil was recorded without precedent for a regal proclamation of 722 as Monasteriolum, signifying "little religious community" in Medieval Latin. The settlement of Montreuil began as a gathering of houses worked around a little religious community.
The city hall leader of Montreuil is the individual from Parti communiste francais Patrice Bessac, who was chosen on the second round of 2014 civil races, overcoming the previous ex-Communist civic chairman Jean-Pierre Brard in a 4 sides second round. On 1 January 1860, the city of Paris was amplified by attaching neighboring cooperatives. On that event, the cooperative of Charonne was disbanded and partitioned between the city of Paris, Montreuil, and Bagnolet. Montreuil got a little piece of the region of Charonne.
