About Montbrison
Montbrison is a cooperative in the Loire division in focal France. Montbrison was the chronicled capital of the tallies of Forez, and today it is the central city in the Forez. The cooperative gives its name to the prominent blue cheddar Fourme de Montbrison, which has been made in the area for quite a long time. It got Appellation d'Origine Controlee status in 1972. The town of Montbrison was established in the region around the masters mansions in the Forez district, of which Montbrison would later turn into the capital. The most punctual recorded reference to the town dates to 870CE.
The town was sustained after the assaults by the English armed force toward the beginning of the Hundred Years War. Amid the Religious Wars, Montbrison was caught and ravaged by the Protestant powers of Francois de Beaumont in 1562, with the town's army tossed from the defenses onto spikes set by the assailants. The Convent of the Visitation was established in 1643 amid a time of extreme starvation. The town endured a progression of poor reaps just as a flare-up of the plague between the years 1648-1653. The Augustinian Convent was established in 1654, trailed by the Hospital to house the poor in 1659. The Ursuline Convent shut in 1851.
