Manche

Manche is a French department in Normandy named for the English Channel, which is called La Manche, actually the sleeve in French. The branch borders its northern and western seashores and part of its jap shore. Manche is one of the original 83 departments created at some point of the French Revolution on March 4, 1790. It was made out of part of the province of Normandie. The first capital becomes Coutances till 1796, and it resumed that function after World War II because of the nearly complete destruction of Saint Lo in the course of the war of Normandy following D Day.

When Saint Lo became rebuilt, it again became the capital. The weather is oceanic, with tremendously mild winters temperatures can go underneath 0 for some days on occasion.
