About Maison de la derniere cartouche

Given to the Franco-German war of 1870 in the Ardennes, the exhibition hall of the House of the last cartouche is devoted to warriors of the Marine Troops who battled the Baians Bazeilles for the barrier of Sedan.Engaged without precedent for arrangement shaped inside the Marine Division or "Blue Division", porpoises and bigors - infantrymen and maritime heavy armament specialists - especially separated themselves in the frantic safeguard of the town of Bazeilles August 31 and September 1, 1870.

At the cost of 2,600 of theirs, the fighters of Marine perpetrated impressive misfortunes 6 000 to 7 000 men with the Baian corps which was against their division. A definitive scene of these battles occurred at the north exit of Bazeilles, in the house Bourgerie - a motel now a gallery - where the porpoises opposed the ambushes of their adversaries "until the last cartridge".
